Upsets in The Handicap Singles

Welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES.
4 games of Handicap Pairs were played at the Club on the Weekend,the results are as follows,Cherie Frame and Peter McPhee were too good for Liz Byrne and Col Mudie 28/19,Elaine Turner and Dave Johnson had a cliff hanger over Joan Simpson and Tom Furey. at the end of the 21st end, the score was 17/17, so an extra end had to be played to decide the winner, and Elaine and Dave getting the nod with a one shot score in the tiebreaker end. Marg Hawkin and Graham Barby had a good win over Maree and Wally Grant 22/14, and finally Chris Dunn and Pay Cooney were too good for Brenda and Joe Davies 27/19.
Also played over the weekend were 5 games of Handicap Singles, in possible a couple of boilovers, Nimo Mills beat Flip Fleidner on the last bowl of the day, winning 25/24. Ron Hornery was too good for Col Hayward, winning 26/18, Tom Furey beat Nimo Mills 25/16, It is noted that both Nimo and Tom played matches in the afternoon, then fronted up to play their singles in the late afternoon, well done to both men, Rob Irving had a big win over Dave Johnson 26/9, and John Dunn also had a good win over Steve Turner 26/11.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
No play on Thursday due to the rain, but on Saturday 28 bowlers fronted for a game, the winners on the day being Elaine Turner and Dave Johnson, with the runners up being the triples team of Steve Ryan Matt Parker and Eileen Bradley, some scores from the day Eileen Bradley M Parker and Steve Ryan 24 beat Bob Freeman John Hodge and John Carr 11, and Rob Irving Guy Ellery and Col Mudie beat Gordon Dickson Mike Valentine and John Ward 26/24.
SUNDAY BOWLS.
8 bowlers fronted for a game of bowls on Sunday morning, Mal Porter and John Dunn were too good for Keith Hutchinson and Greg Townsend 24/8, and in a closer game Ian Brown and Chris Dunn beat Don Littlewood and Guy Ellery 19/13, the winners on the day being Chris Dunn and Mal Porter.
GENERAL NEWS.
Members are asked to keep the following in mind, Presentation day is on Saturday 5th December, all members are asked to be in Club Uniform for Photos, and Party day is set down for 19th December.The final of the Mixed Fours is set down for Thursday Night 19th November at 6pm, this should be a real cracker of a game, and it would be well worth coming down to the club to see it.
The Liz Byrne and Rhona Went sponsored Old Bowls day will be on this Sunday, names in by 1pm for a 1.30pm state, two games of 12 ends with a sausage sizzle to finish, this is a mixed mufti day, with names to be drawn from a hat for teams,this is looking to be a great day judging from the talk around the Club, so make sure you keep this afternoon free.
Nominations for C.W.D Triples are now open, closing on 11th Jan 2016, this will be played at Condobolin, so you have plenty of time to get your team together.
A working Bee will be held on Sunday 20th Dec to renevate the No 2 Green, it will be an early start to avoid the heat of the day, and the team hope for a big turnout to help, being a Sunday it is hoped that people who work will be able to come and give a hand..
