A close match between Bruce Deland and Colin Mudie against Graham Barby and John Ward saw the scores locked together at 9 all after eleven ends. Graham and John scored 5 shots on the fourteenth end to give them a winning break and went on to a 23 to 20 victory. Jim Blake and Fay Berry played top bowls to convincingly defeat Margaret O’Connor and Greg Howlett 25 to 5.
John Carr and Warren Bevan got a flying start to lead Bev Stairs an Arthur Corbett 9 to 0 after four ends and continued on their merry way to win 27 to 13.
