DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The District Fours championships were held at Forbes on Saturday and Sunday, February 6 and 7.
The Club was well represented and two teams made it to the semi-finals. The team of Flip Fliedner, Michael Went, Tom Casey and Tom Furey were too good for a team from Forbes and advanced to the final. The other semi-final ended in victory for the team of John Corcoran, Wally Grant, Craig Henry and Michael Craft over a Condobolin team.
In the final, Flip’s team got away to a flying start and lead by 13 – 0 after 4 ends. In spite of some great bowls by John’s team they had no answer to the bowls being played by Flip’s team who had a very convincing win to take out the District Fours Championship. Congratulations to all of our players and especially to Flip, Michael and the two Tom’s.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Only one game was played this week. In the Major Pairs, Matt and Warwick Parker played Peter McPhee and Steve Ryan.
