SUNDAY MORNING JACKPOT
The weather prevented any bowls on Sunday morning.
The jackpot remains at $1000. The range of numbers for the jackpot margin is being reduced by two each week until the jackpot is won.
Come along on Sunday morning for a game of bowls, a sausage sandwich, and a chance to win the jackpot. Names in by 9:30am for a 10:00am start.
PENNANT TRIAL AND FUNDRAISING DAY
30 bowlers braved the very cold conditions to give our Grade 5 Pennant team a trial game and also to raise some money of help offset their expenses in travelling to Tamworth in August for the State Grade 5 Pennant titles. Generous sponsorship was received from Pete (The Painter) McVicker, John O’Malley, Mark Dwyer, Kevin Hynds, John Carr and Geoff Freeman.
The three trial games were very close encounters. The Col Hayward led team scored four shots on the last two ends to defeat the Warren Bevan led team 24-22. The team led by Graham Fliedner scored six shots on the last two ends to defeat the Col Mudie led team 21-13 and the Tom Casey led team scored seven shots on the last three ends to defeat the Keith MacRae led team 29-19.
The one social game played saw Terry Hetherington, Alan Affleck and Greg Townsend win the last two ends to defeat Ron Murray, Norm Keane and John Ward 19-17.
Raffle winners were Kevin Hynds (2), Cherie Frame, Ray Jones and Norm Keane.
Another similar day is being considered for next month.
