CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS MATCHES
Two Handicap Singles matches and a Minor Pairs match were played during the last week.
The first Handicap Singles match saw Arthur Corbett dominate early to establish a 17-6 lead over Wally Grant. Wally fought back to trail 19-14 before Arthur won two of the next three ends to record a 25-16 win.
The second match was between Nimo Mills and John Hodge. John had to give Nimo three shots start and he quickly made up the three shots and went out to a 18-11 lead. From then on it was all Nimo, as he won eight of the last nine ends to run out a comfortable 25-19 winner.
The Minor Pairs match saw Steve Turner and Wilbur Harris take on Wally Grant and Rob Irving. The first six ends were evenly shared with the score being 7 all. Wally and Rob then extended their lead to 17-7 before Steve and Wilbur fought back to trail by one shot, 18-19, after 15 ends. Steve and Wilbur took control of the rest of the match to record a very comfortable 35-18 win.
1300BUGMAN TWILIGHT BOWLS
A great field of 54 bowls turned out for round three of the 1300BUGMAN sponsored twilight bowls on Thursday night. There was a number of very close games.
Bowl 4 Beers scored six shots on the last end to go down narrowly, 17-15, to Pink.
Rebelle scored six shots in winning the last three ends to record a come from behind win over Butcher Boys.
Elvii scored 4 shots in the last two ends to also record a come from behind 14-11 win over Loopy 1.
Three Amigos won the last three ends to give Bowl Bros a real fright. Bowl Bros hung on to win 14-13.
Golden Girls also scored a come from behind win when they won the last two ends to snatch a thrilling 12-11 win over Royal. Other winners on the night were Central West Glass over Purple People, Hi Rollers over 1300Bugman, Happy Wanderers over Bushies and We Wreck ‘em ‘N’ We Fix ‘em over Casey Surveying.
SOCIAL BOWLS
Thursday saw a good field of 22 bowlers play four games of pairs and one triples.
The triples game saw Bob Freeman, Ted Wright and John Carr record a 24-22 win over Gordon Dickson, Les Kent and Ron Hornery.
After the scores were locked together at 16 all, Greg Huggins and John Hodge won the last three ends to defeat Jim Blake and John Ward 23-16.
Graham Barby and Graham Fliedner had a great start and led Rob Irving and Col Hayward 15-0 after six ends. The next 10 ends were evenly shared before Graham and Graham skipped away to record a 29-13 win.
In a very close game, Mal Porter and Col Mudie won the last three ends to snatch a 21 all draw with John Watson and Keith MacRae. John and Keith were declared the winners by winning the ends 12-9.
The last game saw Chris Dunn and Tom Furey score a narrow 20-17 win over John Dunn and Ray Jones.
Major prize winners were Greg Huggins and John Hodge with the minor prize winners being John Watson and Keith MacRae.
Three games of social bowls were played on Saturday.
Greg Huggins and Col Woods had a 21-15 win over Bob Freeman and Ted Wright.
Chris Dunn and Ray Jones had a good 27-9 win over Mick Blunt and Keith MacRae.
In a very close game in which the lead changed five times, Ron Fisher and John Carr came out 21-18 winners over Gordon Dickson and John Davies.
Major prize winners were Chris Dunn and Ray Jones with the minor winners being the Minor Pairs match winners, Steve Turner and Wilbur Harris.
MIXED PAIRS & FOURS NOMINATIONS
Nominations are now being taken for the above events. Mixed Pairs nominations close on Thursday, November 10 with the first round to be played by Sunday, November 20.
Mixed Fours nominations close on Saturday, November 19 with the first two rounds to be played on Sunday, December 4. These matches can be played earlier if players wish to.

Thursday, November 3 – Geoff Freeman and Les Kent; Saturday, November 5 – Rob Irving and Tom Furey; Thursday, November 10 – Graham Barby and Mick Craft.
FRIDAY NIGHT
Good old fashioned pub style meals are available at very reasonable prices. Raffles are also on where patrons have the chance to win meat trays, shopping vouchers and cash prizes. So come along and join in the fun. Members badge draw this Friday is $1900.
