G'Day, and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday afternoon's bowls were washed out, but 34 bowlers fronted on Saturday for an afternoons game on the green, the winners on the day were Ray Jones and Craig Henry, with the runners up being Graham Dixon and Merv Hennock, a couple of close games on the day saw Merv Hennock and Graham Dixon beat Ron Hornery and Steve Ryan 22/20, Joe Davies and Noel Nicholson had a close game against John O'Malley and Corky Corcoran 18/17, and in a ladies game Liz Byrne and Rhona Went had a close win over Betsy Johnston and Brenda Davies 20/17.
Sunday afternoon saw 4 brave souls defy the elements to play a game of pairs, with Dave Buggie and Julie Hamilton in a last end win over Garry and Rhona Went 21/20.
SUNDAY JACKPOT BOWLS.
There were 8 players on a cold and cloudy day chasing the Jackpot, it was not won, so this Sunday sees it at $940.
PENNANT PRACTICE.
On this coming Sunday afternoon, the No.2 Pennant team will be having a practice game. The three sides will play together with a selected fourth side, in a 2 X10 end game(?), in preperation for their State Pennant playoffs at Tuncurray, all the players are asked to be present, in their Club Colors, to take part in the practice and for Team Photos.
GENERAL NEWS.
In the final event of the Zone playoffs, Brett Frame took part in the Major Singles, unfortunately he met an inform Joshua Andriske from West Dubbo, and went down 31/24.
The Nominations for both the Major and Minor Fours have now closed, check the notice board for the draw, remember you can play anytime you can organise your game, you dont have to wait for the last day.
