Team Davies Triples Champions

G'Day, and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
ZONE TRIPLES.
Our team of Tom Casey, Mick Went and Flip Fleidner represented our Club at Coonabarabran in the Zone 4 Triples. After a tough lead up game they went into the Final against a powerfull Nyngan Team but unfortunately lady luck was not on their side and they went down. However to finish runners up in the Zone Triples is a great achievement. Congratulations go to Flip and his team on a great effort.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
On the weekend the final of the Major Triples was played and in a very one sided game the team of Peter McPhee, Mark Dwyer and Joe Davies had a big win over Mick Valentine, Gary McPhee and Ron Hornery 32/5.So congratulations to the 2015 Major Triples winners, Team Davies.
Also played on the day was the Semi Finals of the Minor Triples where Greg Townsend, Peter McPhee and Steve Ryan had a big win over Wally Austin, Steve Turner and Wilbur Harris, 34/12. So they go into the final where they will play the winner of Tony Byrne, Bernie Mitchell and Nimo Mills and Les Kent, Joe Crowley and Craig Henry.
SUNDAY JACKPOT BOWLS.
12 players fronted on Sunday for a chance at the Jackpot. It was not won so this Sunday it stands at $940. Anyone who would like to play on Sunday Morning, it is a mufti day, names in by 9.30am for a 10am start. A couple of scores on the day, the two Georges, Bradley and Boatswain, had a nail biter over Bill Skinner and Chris Dunn 14/13 and Bob Freeman and Dave Johnson also had a close shave over Mick Blunt and Maureen Baillie. 12/11.
THURSDAY afternoon saw 20 Bowlers on the greens, with the winners being George Bradley and Keith MacRae. Runners up Graham Dixon and Col Mudie. A couple of close games on the day saw John Watson and John Dunn just sneak over Bob Freeman and Ron Hornery 25/23. Les Kent and Steve Ryan just got over Ray Jones and John Ward 17/16 and finally George Bradley and Keith MacRae had a close win over Mick Blunt and Rob Irving 17/16.
SATURDAY afternoon saw 20 bowlers on the greens, unfortunately there is no results listed. A couple of scores from the games played, Les Kent and Nimo Mills had a good win over John Dunn and Tom Furey 23/18. Keith MacRae and Geoff Freeman had a good win over Arthur Corbett and Col Hayward 21/11 and Rob Irving and Col Mudie also had a good win over John Watson and Dave Johnson 23/13.
GENERAL NEWS.
Nominations for both the Minor and Major Fours have now closed, so check the board for the draw. PLEASE try and get them over as soon as possible.
Also Nominations for the Handicap Pairs is now open. The revised Handicap list is on the board so check to see what you are on, then get a partner for the event. Remember the MINIMUM combined Handicap is 12, so get cracking.
