G'Day, and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
PENNANTS.
A general bye for both the Sixes and Sevens last Sunday and with the Ones yet to start their campaign, the Fives played on, they were at home to Peak Hill, where they scored a decisive 6/0 win.
This Sunday both the Sixes and Sevens are at home to Condobolin, the Sixes have to keep on winning to stay in the running for a Flag, but both the Sevens and Condo Sevens are out of the running, so they can have a fun day and play for enjoyment and knowing the Condo players, it will be a fun day.
The Fives are also playing but they are off to Dubbo City, where hopefully they can come home with a win.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Two games of singles played over the weekend, also the Final of the Minor Pairs, in this game, the team of Gary McPhee and John O'Malley had a close call over Alan Affleck and Joe Crowley, at the 19th End Gary and John had a 22/15 lead, but in the last two ends Alan and Joe picked up 5 shots, to just go down 22/20, a great win for Gary and John.
In the Minor singles game between Guy Bennett and Greg Ballentine, in a game that went to 34 ends, Greg got up 31/20, so now Greg has to face Keven Hynds in the final of the Minor Singles.
In the semi final game of the Major Singles, Baldy Frame met Graham (Flip) Fliedner, in a game that had the large crown enthralled to the very end. Baldy got up 31/26. So now Baldy has to do battle with Robert Corbett in the Final, this game should be a beauty, with whoever is on their game on the day being the winner.
