Major Fours Down to Semi Finals

G'Day, and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
No bowls on Thursday due to the weather but 38 bowlers fronted on Saturday in perfect Spring weather, this involved 4 games of Major Fours and a game of Triples in a Social Match.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHOPS.
Major Fours results.K Hynds, M Valentine, T Hetherington and K MacRae beat G Bennett, W Grant, C Henry and S Turner 31/14.
G Ball, G Boatswain, D Buggie and C Hayward beat M Craft, R Jones, D Worthington and M Went 24/14.
T Wright, G Freeman, G Barby and C Mudie beat N Keane, R Murray, J Hodge and R Tinker 33/9.
N Nicholson, S Ryan, R Corbett and A Corbett beat T Hamilton, D Deland, D Sears and W Bean 28/12.And in a game on Sunday Morning C Cusack, G Ball, D Buggie and C Hayward beat M Valentine, K Hynds, T Hetherington and K MacRae 19/13.
So now in the Major Fours C Hayward's team is in the Final and will play the winner of Team Corbett and Team Mudie.
The Minor Fours has reached the final stage, where G Pepper, C Westcott, L Westcott and G Ballantyne will play D Johnson, C Henry, P Henry and C Cusack on Saturday 6th October.
SUNDAY JACKPOT AND SOCIAL MIXED PAIRS.
On a beautiful Sunday players enjoyed a game of bowls in both events, the jackpot did not go off so $400 next Sunday week. There will be no social bowls this Sunday due to the Mixed Pairs.
GENERAL NEWS.
The big news from the A.G.M. last Monday night was the bestowing of Life Membership on the Chairman of the Club Ray Jones. Ray has done a power of work behing the scenes and was the driving force behind the extensions to the club, which has done wonders to the look of the club and the enjoyment of its members.
The Footy Tipping party is this Saturday evening, any tipster who has not put their name on the list to attend you have till Thursday Night to do so. We need the numbers for catering purposes.
Twilight Bowls will commence on Wednesday and Thursday nights 10th and 11th October.Teams of three are invited to nominate on your favourite night.Teams may be Men, Women or mixed.High School Kids welcome. Flyers will be distributed around town in the near future so please enter for a great night of fun bowls.
The Mens Bowling Club is still looking for a Bowls Secretary.Anyone who would like to support the club and help out in a practical manner, please see a committee member.
