Here is the latest news from the Bowlie.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Four matches were played this last week.
In a Minor Pairs Semi Final Mick Craft and Greg Fisher after trailing 4-7 finished strongly, winning 10 of the last 12 ends, to defeat Norm Keane and Mike Valentine 25-15.
Steve Ryan played Steve Turner in a Minor Singles Semi Final. This was a very close match with only one shot separating the players after 21 ends. Steve Ryan then won seven of the last eight ends to win the match 31-22.
In Major Singles Quarter Finals Michael Went had a good 31-17 win over Terry Hetherington and Brett Frame defeated Keith MacRae 31-10.

16 bowlers played four games of Pairs on Easter Monday.
Rhona Went and Mike Valentine had a come from behind 20-17 win over Gordon Dickson and Steve Turner.
Mick Blunt and Dave Johnson had a hard fought 23-19 win over Liz Byrne and John Ward.
Ron Hornery and Chris Dunn had a narrow 21-18 win over Alan Affleck and Kevin Hynds.
The last game saw Rob Irving and Mark Dwyer play Gwenda Carty and Col Hayward. Gwenda and Col started well and led 16-3 after 13 ends. Rob and Mark stormed home, winning the last eight ends, to snatch a 16 all draw. Gwenda and Col won the ends 11-10.Major prize winners were Mick Blunt and Dave Johnson with the minor winners being Rhona Went and Mike Valentine.
Tuesday, 22nd April, saw 13 bowlers play in the Twilight Jackpot Bowls. Two games of Pairs and one Triples were played.
In the Triples game Bob Freeman led for both teams and combined with Mike Phillips and Ron Murray to defeat himself, Geoff Leonard and Wally Austin 24-11.
Greg Phillips and Bruce Orr had a good 21-9 win over John Watson and Steve Mills.
Garry Phillips and Mick Horan scored one shot on the last end to record a 15-14 win over Les Kent and Bernie Mitchell.
The jackpot was not won and increased to $450. New bowlers are welcome with players needing to have their names in by 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start.
Tuesday 29th will be the last Tuesday night game. From Tuesday 6th May it will be an afternoon event with names in by 12:30pm for a 1:00pm start.
28 bowlers played four games of Pairs and two games of Triples on Thursday afternoon.
Bill Skinner, Steve Turner and Terry Hetherington led all the way in their 27-16 win over John Watson, Ron Murray and Joe Crowley.
Les Kent, Alan Affleck and Mike Valentine had a hard fought 23-19 win over Bob Freeman, Rob Irving and John Ward.
Wally Austin and John Carr finished the stronger to defeat Ron Hornery and John Corcoran 21-15.
Trailing 7-9 after 11 ends, Phil Helies (Wyong) and Warren Bevan dominated the last ten ends to defeat Col Woods and Geoff Freeman 21-11.
Ray Jones and Kevin Hynds won the last four ends to overtake Greig Ball and Col Mudie and win the game 23-19.
Noel Nicholson and John Dunn won eight of the last ten ends to defeat Norm Keane and Mike Parkes 20-10.
The major prize winners were Bill Skinner, Steve Turner and Terry Hetherington and the minor winners were Brett Frame and Col Hayward (marker).
One game of Pairs and one game of Triples was played on Anzac Day.
Chris Dunn and John Ward defeated Wally Austin and John Dunn 23-18.
Bill Skinner, Steve Turner and Pat Cooney had a 29-23 win over Alan Wray (Sydney), Ron Murray and Kevin Hynds.
Saturday saw 24 bowlers on the green playing six games of Pairs in the Norm Keane and Ron Murray sponsored Super Saturday. Six other bowlers played Club Championship matches.
Ray Jones and Gary McPhee had a narrow 22-19 win over Steve Mills and John Carr.
Ron Hornery and John Ward completely dominated their match against Bob and Geoff Freeman, winning 27-12.
Phil Helies (Wyong) and Greig Ball played Gwenda Carty and John Corcoran. Phil and Greig led 14-6 before Gwenda and John came back to trail 13-14 after 13 ends. Phil and Greig dominated the latter ends to record a 29-15 win.
John Dunn and Col Mudie won the last four ends to overtake Bill Skinner and Keith MacRae and record a 22-17 win.
Joe Crowley and Col Hayward scored a good 25-15 win over Ron Thomas (Shoalhaven Heads) and Kevin Hynds.
Ian Mill and Mark Dwyer won the last three ends to snatch a 19 all draw with Alan Affleck and John O’Malley. Ian and Mark won the ends 12-9.
Mayor winners were Joe Crowley and Col Hayward and the minor winners were Mick Craft and Greg Fisher.
The Super Saturday event will be held on the last Saturday of each month for the rest of the year.
SUNDAY MORNING JACKPOT
A good field of 18 bowlers graced the greens and played three games of Pairs and one Triples.
In the Triples game Bob Freeman, Mick Blunt and Kevin Hynds had a narrow 13-9 win over Bill Skinner, Brian Harrison and George Boatswain.
Alan Affleck and Mal Porter had a hard fought 14-11 win over Keith Hutchison and Chris Dunn.
Mike Phillips and Dean Searl dominated the latter ends in defeating Mick Horan and John Dunn 18-7.
In the last game, where there was some concern the scoreboard would not have enough numbers, Maureen Boatswain and Guy Ellery had a runaway 30-4 win over Elaine and Steve Turner.
Voucher winners were Keith Hutchison, Dean Searl, Maureen Boatswain, Guy Ellery, John Dunn and Steve Turner.
The jackpot was not won and remains at $1000.
Come along on Sunday morning for a game of bowls, a sausage sandwich, and a chance to win the jackpot. Names in by 9:30am for a 10:00am start.
