Here is the latest news from the Bowlie.
CORBETT’S HISTORY MAKING WIN
Last month Robert and Arthur Corbett won the Central West District Pairs title for the third consecutive year. This is the first time a team has won three consecutive titles in the 70 plus years of the competition. Congratulations to Robert and Arthur on this history making performance.
TWILIGHT BOWLS
Thursday night saw 62 bowlers on the greens.
Narrow margins highlighted the penultimate round of the competition with eight of the ten games having a margin of three or less. Super Bees defeated Battlers 11-10, Bushies defeated High Rollers 13-12, Turf & Surf defeated Uniting Church 13-12, Casey Surveying defeated Cracker Jacks 13-11, Elle defeated Three Amigos 10-8, Throw Together defeated Rok-FM 12-10, Young Guns defeated We Wreck Em-We Fix Em 12-10 and Bowl Bros defeated Back Trundle Road 14-11. The other matches saw Bat Girls score nine shots on the last four ends to defeat The Noobs 15-9 and Spadgers had a comfortable win over an understrength Golden Girls.
The major prize winning team was Bat Girls. Elle the minor prize and Back Trundle Road the lucky losers.
Rok-FM’s loss last week has given five teams the chance of winning the competition. A fitting finale for this very popular event. The presentation night will be on Thursday 20th March. This will be a free night of bowls followed by the presentation.
