Here's the latest from the Bowlie.
Nimo Mills and Tom Furey are the 2015 Minor Pairs Club Champions after defeating Steve Turner and Wilbur Harris in a very close and highly entertaining final. Steve and Wilbur started well and won seven of the first nine ends to hold an early 14-2 lead. The never say die attitude of Nimo and Tom saw them dig deep as they won the next eight ends to grab a 15-14 lead with four ends to play. Steve and Wilbur scored one shot on the next end to level the score at 15 all. Nimo and Tom regained the lead with a one shot winning end before Steve and Wilbur both played one excellent bowl for them to score two shots on the penultimate end and regain the lead 17-16. The last end saw Steve and Wilbur holding two shots. Nimo’s last bowl trailed the jack back to his teams bowl and they then held two shots. The final bowls from the two skips did not alter the head which meant Nimo and Tom scored two shots to claim the title 18-17.

ZONE FOURS CHAMPIONSHIP
The Zone 4 fours championship finals were played at the club over last weekend with the strong Dubbo Railway team of Mark Collins (sub for Jono Davis), Mathew McIntyre, Nathan Wise and Jay Porter claiming the title with a 22-18 win over the Condobolin team of Peter Brasnett, Max Johnson, Geoff Williams and Darren Seton. In the semi finals Dubbo Railway had a 25-14 win over Nyngan and Condobolin defeated Bourke 24-12.
In the final Dubbo Railway had a dream start to the match with an early 14-0 lead. This turned out to be the difference between the teams. Condobolin had the better of the remainder of the match however the early lead saw Dubbo Railway hang on to record the 22-18 win. This was a great effort from Condobolin when you consider that three of the opposing team are either current or former state representative players. Congratulations to the Dubbo Railway team who will now go on to the state finals later in the year.
