Thursday Bowls
Three matches and three social games made up the program on a lovely autumn afternoon. In major singles Colin Hayward was in great touch defeating Colin Mudie 31-16 and in minor matches Garry McPhee had an emphatic 31-4 against John Edwards, as did Terry Hetherington 31-20 over John Hodge. Of the social bowls the best game was the triples where Ted Wright, Rob Tinker and Geoff Freeman won 21- 18 against Tom Casey, John Corcoran and Greig Ball. John Ward and Wally Grant won the last four ends to defeat Arthur Corbett and Tom Cole 19-15. Ron Fisher and Dave Johnson were very impressive in their 23-15 win against Phil Collins and Mick Parkes.

Club News.
The Friday night draw continues to go along well, and with the members badge draw (now $1300) and restaurant proving popular it’s a great night out.

Saturday Bowls.
Not a lot of players for Saturday arvo but there was a couple of entertaining games on show. In minor singles Josh Mills showed he will be force to be reckoned with in this event as he overcame a spirited challenge from Greig Ball to win a fierce battle 31-24 the game lasting 37 ends. Of the social bowls the triples game turned out to be a thriller as Dave Johnson, Craig Henry and John Edwards held off the very fast finishing trio of Ron Fisher, Steve Turner and Brian Charters 21-19. Ted Wright and Graham Turner just pulled away over the final stages to defeat Colin Hayward and Joe Crowley 21-17. Merv Hennock and Rob Corbett combined well to defeat Tony Bright and Stan Wright 24-19. In a mixed encounter Ray Jones and Liz Byrne were all class as they ran out 27-16 winners against John Ward and Rhona Went.
This Saturday first round matches in both minor and major singles must be completed, so please organise your match or you could miss out.

Sunday Bowls.
Just two rinks for Sunday morning social bowls and both games were tough encounters. In triples Craig Henry, Steve Turner and Elaine Miller out muscled Dave Johnson Mick Gilliver and Keith Hutchison 12-7. Mick Craft and John Taylor won in convincing style 16-6 against Peter Craft and Mick Holland. The jackpot was not won and will move on to $400 for this week.

Coming Events.
Our pennant sides are back in action this weekend and all will be looking for wins to stay in touch in their respective divisions. The No.1 side travel to Dubbo and will take on West Dubbo, after two successive losses the team will be looking for a big win to put them back in contention. A weekend away awaits the No.4 side as they do the road trip, they will play Cobar in Cobar on Saturday afternoon then back up Sunday morning and play Bourke on the way home. The No.6 side is at home to Peak Hill and will be looking to repeat their 1st round win against very strong opposition.
The No.7 boys will have a tough away match against the very hard to beat Condobolin side on their own turf.
