Men's Section AGM, Monday 5th

G,Day, and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Two games of Major Triples were played on Saturday. In the first Major Triples Semi Final, the team of Geoff Freeman Graham Barby and Graham (Flip) Fliedner had a mighty tussle over Greg Townsend Mick Went and Robert Corbett, winning 20/19, at the 24th end the scores were 19/19, and on the 25th end Graham's team got up by one shot to advance to the Final.
In the other Triples game the team of Rob Tinker (Sub) Greig Ball and Tom Casey were too good for Steve Turner(Sub) Gary McPhee and Kevin Hynds, winning 22/11, they also advance to the Final. The Major Triples Final is set down for the 10th August,thisl should be a cracker of a game.
SUNDAY JACKPOT BOWLS.
12 Players fronted for the Jackpot game, but again, it did not go off, so $1000 this Sunday, it will stay at $1000, with a new Jackpot coming up behind, if the Jackpot does not go off this Sunday, the Jackpot Margins will be decreased each week, until it does go off. Remember the Prize Money is to be split between BOTH sides.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
22 bowlers took to the green on a balmy Thursday afternoon, with the winners on the day being Greig Ball and John Ward, Runners up Mick Valentine and Gary McPhee, results of a couple of games on the day, saw Mick Valentine and Gary McPhee in a close win over Norm Keane and John Dunn 17/16, and in a Triples match Bill Wyatt Tony Byrne and Col Mudie in a thrilling come from behind last end to beat Bill Skinner Mick Parkes and John O'Malley (welcome back John) 25/24, The Mudie team were 3 behind on the last end, and came up with a 4 to win the day.
Saturday saw 32 Bowlers on the Greens, the Popular winners on the day being Tony Byrne and Alan Wright,( a big welcome back to Alan, as he has been away too long). The runners up were Ron Murray and Steve Ryan, a couple of close scores from the day saw Merv Hannock and Dave Johnson in a come from behind last end win over Keith Alexander and Sheldon Orr, 22/21, in the other game Chris Dunn and Terry Hetherington had a good win over Norm Keane and Keith MacRae 20/17.
GENERAL NEWS.
The Nominations for the men's Bowling section has closed, there will be a couple of Ballots, its great to see members nominating for the positions, now all we need is a big turnout for the A.G.M. on Monday Night the 5th August at 7pm, this is our first stand alone meeting, so lets make it a good one.
Nominations are now open for the Club Board, several of the current board members have stated they will not be standing, so it is now up to the members to come forward and do their bit for the Club. This A.G.M. is set down for the 29th September, so keep the date free.
Matches set down to be played August 3rd, the first round of the Major Fours, August 10th the Semi Final of the Minor Fours, also the Final of the Major Triples, this should be a great day of Bowls and a big crowd is expected to front up to witness the games.

Saturday 27/7 Mick Craft and Graham Barby, Thursday 1/8 Geoff Freeman and Gary McPhee, Saturday 3/8 Tom Casey and Steve Mills.
The new Bowls roster is out, if you do have one, they are on the table in the bowls room.
