Here’s the latest from the Bowlie.
PENNANTS.
The No. 2 Pennant side travelled to Dubbo last Sunday to contest the Zone 4 Championship. They played the strong Cowra side, led by former NSW Singles Champion, Gerard Beath, and had a great win, scoring 64 shots to 53.
This year the side was without three top players from last year but performed consistently well and exceeded all expectations.
The team of John Davies, Paul Henry, Tom Casey and Warwick Parker got off to a flying start, scoring seven shots on the first end and were never headed and went on to a commanding 25-15 victory.
Col Hayward, John Hodge, Geoff Freeman and Tom Furey also had a fine start and had a convincing 23-17 win.
Garry Carberry, Graham Barby, Dave Johnson and Mark Dwyer trailed early but played well to level the score, 16 all, after eighteen ends. Unfortunately, the last three ends were won by Cowra and Garry’s team lost 16-21.
Reserve for the day was Steve Ryan who had just returned from a trip to Canada.
Many thanks to Gwenda Carty, who did an excellent job managing the side throughout the Pennant season.
Congratulations on a great win and best of luck when the side travel to Wagga to contest the No. 2 State Final on the weekend of August 4 - 6.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Major Singles.
On Sunday, May 28 the Final of the Club Championship Singles was played and what a great match it turned out to be.

Col again extended his lead to 29-17 and Mark again fought back scoring four shots on the next end but Col then closed out the match scoring the two shots he needed to win the match 31-21 and claim the title of Club Singles Champion for 2017.
