G'Day, and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday afternoon saw 30 bowlers on the greens in perfect Winter weather, for a friendly game of bowls, the winners on the day being Col Hayward and Alan Affleck, the runners up being Alan Tolhurst and John Ward.
Saturday saw 36 bowlers on the greens on a cool but sunny afternoon, no names on the sheet, so I dont know who won on the day. A couple of close games on the day saw Merv Hennock and John O'Malley beat Steve Mills and Terry Hetherington 18/15, and Nathan Wills and Ted Wright beat Tom Cole and Arthur Corbett 22/18.
There were two semi finals of the Major Triples played on the day, in the first game, Paul Henry Garry Went and Brett Frame beat Mick Craft Guy Bennett and Dave Worthington 28/16, and Craig Cusack Mick Went and Robert Corbett in a good win over Greig Ball Col Hayward and Tom Casey 29/15, so the final, in about three weeks or so, will see Team Frame against Team Corbett, an interesting item in this game will see Father against Son, i.e. Garry Went against Mick Went, as Garry said, we are guaranteed to see the Went name on the Club Honours Board.
SUNDAY JACKPOT BOWLS.
14 players came together on a balmy Sunday Morning to play for the Jackpot, but it was not won, so $980 next week.Good to see the extra bowlers on the green for Sunday morning bowls.

GENERAL NEWS.
The Club now has a fully qualified coach, Craig Cusack attended a two day coaching course at Orange last weekend, and is now a qualified Bowls Coach, so anyone who would like Craig to check out their game, talk to him and he will arrange a time for a lesson and discussion. New bowlers who would like to learn about bowls, and ordinary bowlers who would like an assessment of their game, please contact Craig, who will organise a time for them.
Christmas in July is on this Saturday Night, the venue is filling up fast, so anyone who would like to organise a table, get in fast, the entertainment is by Risky Business, so a great night is assured, it is only $25 a head.
The No 2 Pennant team had a final hit out as a team before their departure to Tuncurry to contest the State Pennants, we wish them all the best, it would be great to get another No 2 Pennant flag to fly at the club.
Well, thats it for this week, see you all at the Bowlie.
