Welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
No sheet made out for Thursday afternoon games, but I have been told that the winners were Alan Wright Kev Hynds and John Ward, and the runners up Bob Freeman Joe Crowley and John Carr, and 36 bowlers fronted for the afternoon.
Saturday afternoon saw the rescheduled Super Saturday being played, with 40 players fronting up for a crack at the money, and the winners were John Dunn, Wally Grant and Mick Craft, the runners up being Ann Wright and Mick Valentine, and the first for a long time, a losers prize was on offer, and won by Robbie Corbett Tom Casey and Col Hayward.
Some results from the day, Col Woods and George Boatswain had a great win over Ron Murray and John Ward 25/24, Ann Wright and Mick Valentine also in a close win over Bob Freeman and Dave Johnson 19/18, and in the match of the day, Dave Buggie and Paul Henry took on the young guns of Doug Miller and Matt Parker, with the result, a draw 19/19, with Doug and Matt winning the ends 11/10, this was a great hit out for Doug and Matt, as they are representing Zone 4 Junior pairs at Woonona for a State Title. We wish the young fellas all the best and they have done us proud in getting this far. A State Title would be the icing on the cake.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Two games of Triples were played on Saturday, in the Major Triples game, Steve Ryan Mark Dwyer and Arthur Corbett beat Robbie Corbett (Subbing for Greig Ball) Tom Casey and Col Hayward 21/20, and in a Minor Triples game, John Dunn Wally Grant and Mick Craft had a good win over Billy Skinner John Hodge and Joe Crowley 30/21.

SUNDAY MORNING JACKPOT BOWLS.
8 players fronted on a cool morning to try for the $1000, but it did not go off, the jackpot numbers are now 1-13, so the odds are getting better.
There will be no bowls on Sunday due to the Presidents day Carnival.
GENERAL NEWS.
July 19 is the closing date for both the Major and Minor Fours, please nominate your teams, also on this day the Final of the Minor Triples will be played, Peter McPhee, Steve Ryan and John O'Malley up against John Dunn, Wally Grant and Mick Craft, this should be a great game, as both teams are in great form.

Well, thats it for this week, see you all at the Bowlie.
