G'Day, and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie,

Thursday afternoon saw 28 bowlers on the greens, with the winners being Noel Nicholson and Guy Bennett, the runners up being Norm Keane and Wally Austin.
Saturday saw 42 bowlers enjoying a pleasant days bowls, the winners being Baldy Frame and the marker Tommy Hamilton, the runners up being Arthur Corbett and Tom Cole.
And the Sunday Morning Jackpot game saw 8 very brave (or very silly) players brave the cold weather for a game of bowls, the jackpot was not won, so this week it goes to $620.Its slowly getting up there again.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES.
Several games were played on the weekend, firstly the Final of the Major Pairs, on a very cold Sunday Afternoon, Baldy Frame and Paul Henry took on Joe Davies and Graham Barby, with Baldy and Paul winning 22/16, well done fellas.
Also there were two semi finals of the Major Singles played, in a cliff hanger Col Hayward just edged out Dave Worthington 31/29, they were level 29/29, with Col getting a two on the 37th end to win the game, well done to both players.
In the other Semi, Baldy Frame had a good win over Corky Corcoran 31/11, so now Baldy and Col will do battle to see who will be the Club Singles Champion.
The Minor Singles saw the Semi final also played with Dave Johnson taking on Gary McPhee, and Peter McPhee taking on Terry Hetherington in the other, in the Dave and Gary show, Dave Johnson got up 31/22, at one stage the scores were level at 18/18, but then Dave hit his stride and pulled away to win comfortably. In the other game Peter McPhee never let Terry Hetherington into the game, Pete left the starting block like a startled rabbit, and with a 10/0 lead was never headed.
GENERAL NEWS.
There were no Pennants played last Sunday, but both the sixes and sevens play this Sunday. The sixes now face an almost impossible task to make the playoff's, with Forbes leading with 15 points closely folllowed by Condobolin with 13.5, Parkes is third with 11.5.
But the sevens are a different story, we are leading with 18 points closely followed by Condobolin on 17, so with two rounds to go we have to hang in and get some big wins. So come on down this Sunday to give the boys all the encouragement so we can to get them over the line, and on their way to Dubbo for the Zone playoffs.
The Major and Minor Triples draws are on the board, the Major first round to be played by 2nd June, the Minors by 26th May, so try to get in and play as soon as possible, before the weather turns real nasty.
Nominations are now open for the Major and Minor Fours, so get your team together and put your nominations in the box.
The trial game for the Fives Pennants against Grenfell is on at Forbes on Sunday 20th, it looks like Cowra will also be playing. So we will have two games against teams from another Zone, this will be a great opportunity to test ourselves against Teams we have never met before. Games start at 9.30am with a suasage sizzle for lunch, so please Skips get your teams together for the day.
Well thats it for the news, see you all at the Bowlie.
