G,day all, welcome to this weeks news from the bowlie,
BUSINESS HOUSE BOWLS.
Wednesday night results saw Super Bees winning from Poets Corner,
Some results from the night, We Know How, had a close call against ROK FM 15/14
Super Bees had a good win against Back Trundle Road 15/12
And Services 2 beat land care 14/11
Thursday Night results.
The winners tonight were Hays over Three Amigos
Runners up Revamped over Elle, some results from the
Other games, Casey Surveying had a ding dong battle with Villagers,
With the result being a 13/13 draw, Casey’s winning on ends,
And Bushies had a close call against RTA In swingers 11/10.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday afternoon saw 24 bowlers take to the green, with the winners being Greg Davies and Terry Hetherington,Runners up being Keith MacRae and Norm Keane.
Some results from other games,Greig Ball and John Corcoran had a titanic struggle with
Brian Collins and Col Mudie,the result being a 19 all draw, with Brian and Col winning the
Ends 11/10, meanwhile Frank Gersback and John Hodge had a close call over Tony Byrne and John Ward 18/17.
Saturday Afternoon was a Mufti day, but there was no sheet in the folder, so I don’t know who won,However some results on the day, Garry McPhee and Geoff Freeman had a close call against John Keogh and Keith MacRae 22/21,and Tom Cole and John Ward had a close call against Max Tomkins and Mick Craft 21/19.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Two games of Mixed Fours played on Wednesday night saw Team Corbett beat Team MacRae 20/16
And Team Barby had a big win over Team Cooney 34/11
Tonight we have the Semi Finals of the Mixed Pairs,
G Carty and P Henry do battle with E Hetherington and C Hayward in one game
And J Simpson and T Bright play J Hamilton and K MacRae in the other.
These games start at 6PM,so come down and see the champs in action
On Sunday we had the Greig Ball and Ron Murray sponsored two bowl Handicap Triples,This saw 12 teams play three games of 15 ends,but a bit of rain and strong winds didn’t hamper the day, the results are as follows,
Winner,Steve Ryan’s team with 3 wins plus 22
Second G Barby Team 2 wins plus 26
Third J Ward team 2 wins plus 14
And fourth C Hayward team 2 wins plus 8
There were also prizes for each round winner, who had not won another prize,
Round 1 B Collins Win 7,round 2 K Hynds win 8 and round 3 K MacRae win 9.
GENERAL NEWS.The nominations are open for the Handicap Singles to be played over weekend of 19/20 November,Noms close 6PM 17th November, so put your name with $5 in the envelope and put it in the box in the Main Bar.
Some other news, our two darts teams,(bet you didn’t know we had them) played in the final on the 2011 winter darts finals.
With the A team TURN COATS, winning over TWIST TOPS 4/1. and the B team TOP FLIGHTS winning over SNIPERS 4/2.
Congratulations to both teams, now if only they can roll their bowls like they chuck their spears.
Also on a winning note, two ladies teams went to the Railway Club in Dubbo for their big Classic Triples Tournament, and one team of Rhone Went Liz Byrne and Joan Simpson, came home with 5 games and $1500 in prize money, winning the tournament, congratulations girls.
