G Day, and welcome to this weeks ramblings from the Bowlie.
BUSINESS HOUSE BOWLS.
Not much to tell this week, Wednesday night was washed out,
But games went on as scheduled on Thursday, with the winners being
Revamped and runners up Uniting Church.There were some close games played, as the scores show.Revamped and Thrown Together had a 12/12 draw, with Revamp winning on end won 8/6.Bushies also had a 12/12 draw with North Parkes Boulders, and the ends also 6/6,How close do you need to be for a dead heat.
Whilst We Wreck Em had a close game with Casey’s Surveying, winning 11/9
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday Afternoon saw 22 bowlers on the Green, I don’t have the winners as there was no sheet in my folder, but some of the scores are as follows,
The triples game of Gordon Dickson Mike Valentine and Gary McPhee
Had a close shave over Alan Tolhurst Wally Grant and Eddie McPhee (no relation)
26/25, and Tom Hamilton and John Corcoran had a close win over Tony Byrne
and Ted Wright 20/16.
Saturday Afternoon saw only 6 social bowlers as the Handicap Singles were being played,The Triples match of Alan Affleck Wally Austin and Geoff Freeman beat Gordon Dickson Dave Johnson And Ron Hornery 17/13.
The winners on Saturday, being a mixture of social and Competition Bowlers, were Craig Henry And Ron Hornery, and runners up being Col Mudie and Ben Townsend.
SUNDAY MORNING CHICKEN RUN.
10 Bowlers met on Sunday to try for the Jackpot, which was not won, the winners on the morning being Don Littlewood Elaine Burgess and Elaine Miller.
Next Sunday the jackpot is at a dizzy height of $800, so come along and give it a go.
Everyone is welcome, from Kids, (12 up) to oldies, bowler or not, you will be most welcome. Bowls can be supplied from the club, Names in by 9.30am for a 10am start.
HANDICAP SINGLES.
Over the weekend the Handicap Singles was played, 20 Players took part, with some great games resulting,Most games lived up to the handicappers selections, with some very close games resulting, but there can be only one winner, and that was Graham Barby with a good win over Guy Bennett,Congratulations Graham.
Also on Saturday the club hosted the Silver Challenge Bowls between Narromine and Young, and on the day Narromine were too strong for Young.
Narromine now go to Lithgow on Saturday to play Gymea, for a chance to enter the Semi Finals to be,played at Raymond Terrace, all the best to our local Zone team in the State playoffs.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
On Sunday both the Mixed Pairs and Mixed Fours, were to be played, they were postponed from Wednesday Night because of rain, and you guessed it, They were washed out again,They are now set down for Saturday Afternoon.
CLUB GOSSIP
Which well known bowler is also into the Race tipping competition, and on Saturday, out of eight races,scored zero,zilch,nothing. Not one point, don’t worry I wont dob you in Barbs. There was also another Zero winner, but as he is away on his Honeymoon, he has a bit of an excuse.That’s all for this week,
