Minor Fours Finalists Decided.

Welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The Semi Finals of the Minor Triples were played on Saturday and in a one sided game Les Kent, Joe Crowley and Craig Henry were far too strong for Tony Byrne, Bernie Mitchell and Nimo Mills winning 35/12. They will now go on to play Greg Townsend, Peter McPhee and Steve Ryan in the final on a date to be fixed.
THURSDAY SOCIAL BOWLS.
26 players fronted for bowls, there is no information on who won on the day, but there were some very close games, John Taylor and Col Mudie had a good win over Alan Affleck and Warren Bevan 18/14, C Cusack and Eddie McPhee had a very close win over Brian Sefont and Brett Frame 18/17, and in a Triples Match John Watson, George Bradley and Keith MacRae had a close win over Bob Freeman, Les Kent and Col Hayward 23/22.
SATURDAY SOCIAL BOWLS.
18 Players fronted on a mild and windy day for a game of bowls, the winners on the day were Col Mudie and Steve Ryan, some scores from the day saw Alan Affleck and John Dunn in a good win over Bob Freeman and Mick Valentine 24/7, Guy Ellery and Keith MacRae also in a good win over Rob Irving and John Ward 24/15, and in the closest game on the day Col Mudie and Steve Ryan had a hard fought win over Rhona Went and Col Hayward 17/15, thanks to Rhona for coming down to make up the numbers.
SUNDAY JACKPOT BOWLS.
Only one game played, Bob Freeman and Dean Searle played Anne Everett and Mick Blunt, and came out winners 26/7, the Jackpot did not go off, so $980 this week. Anyone who would like to play on a Sunday Morning with a Sausage Sizzle to follow, is more than welcome to come down, it is open to anyone, bowls can be supplied, so get your name in by 9.30am for a 10am start.
GENERAL NEWS.
Both the Major and Minor Fours draw is now on the Board, the Major Fours will be played over weekend of 8/9 August, while the Minor Fours will be played over the weekend of 15/16 August, if you cannot play on one of these days, please get a Sub.
The Handicap Pairs have now closed, please check the board for the draw, please get stuck in and play your game as soon as possible.
Nominations are now open for the Board of Directors, anyone who is a Financial Member of the Club,( Full or Social) is welcome to nominate. Please be aware that all new Directors MUST complete the Directors training course.So anyone who has something POSITIVE to offer the club, please think about nominating for a position.
