G Day and welcome to this weeks news from the bowlie,
BUSINESS HOUSE.
Well the rains finally had a break, and we got through the Business House Bowls for both nights,
WEDNESDAY NIGHT,
The winners for the night were Services Two and the runners up
Maree Costumes, some results from the night,
We Know How had a close game against ROK FM 18/15,
and Services One had a good game against High Rollers 11/8
THURSDAY NIGHT.
Despite the social afternoon bowls being called off because of the rain
it cleared up later and Thursday Night went ahead.
The winners were Thrown Together,with the runners up
being Bushies, some results from the night.
North Parkes Boulders beat Hays 14/8,
Bushies and Three Amigos had a 12/12 draw, with the Bushies winning
the ends 8/7. a very close game indeed.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday afternoon was called off because of rain,but a great field of 42
took to the greens on Saturday, with Hams and Christmas cakes being the prizes,
so all the winners were drawn from the entry list by the machine.
some scores from the day,Mick Valentine and John Ward beat Ron Murray and
Tom Casey 17/14,Bernie Mitchell and Keith MacRae had a great tussle against
Tony Byrne and Ron Hornery 19/18, Peter McPhee and Greig Ball had a close shave against Bruce Orr and Steve Turner 21/20,and Dave Johnson and Baldy Frame had a close one against Tom Hamilton and Joe Davies 19/18.
CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES
Finally the weather let up, and third try lucky, both the mixed pairs and fours went ahead.In the Pairs Elle Hetherington and Col Hayward were too strong for Joan Simpson and Tony Bright 21/15, and in the fours Margaret Hawkins Col Mudie Margaret Gray and Graham Barby were too strong for Pam MacRae Paul Henry Cherie Frame and Robert Corbett winning 22/12.
SUNDAY CHICKEN RUN
Despite the Jackpot being a whopping $800 only 10 bowlers turned up for the game,
Elaine Burgess Don Littlewood and Ted Wright had a close game against
Keith MacRae Tom Cole and Chris Dunn winning 12/9, and Callum Job and Craig Henry had a good win against Dave Johnson and Gwenda Carty 18/8.
The Jackpot was not won so next week it is $840.
GENERAL NEWS
Members are reminded that the Presentation Day is this Saturday at 5PM, following
the bowls, so come along for a great days bowls then hang around for the presentation
of the awards for the winners of the various events held over the past year.
The big Question Mark of the day will be who will win the Prestigious award of the
Bowler of the Year, Betting is now open.
