The team of Geoff Freeman, Col Mudie and Col Hayward have claimed first prize in the Manildra Invitation Triples tournament played on March 25-26. The tournament consisted of five games of 15 end triples. They finished the tournament with four wins + 38. Parkes Bowling and Sports Club was well represented with five teams participating. Congratulations to the Manildra Bowling Club for a well run tournament, a well presented green and the magnificent morning teas and lunches provided by the Manildra ladies.

Ray and Arthur managed to score nine shots on the last four ends to win the game 24-14. Rob and John were unable to combat Arthur’s renown unorthodox ability of converting losing heads into winning heads.

Tom and Phill then hit top form and won seven of the last eight ends to record a come from behind 22-20 win.

They then won the next three ends to extend their lead to 15-10. Wally and Tom won five of the last six ends but failed to catch Craig and Warren who hung on to win 17-16.
In another very close game, Don Littlewood and Geoff Freeman played Ron Fisher and Col Mudie. Ron and Col held an early 9-1 lead and still held a 12-6 lead after nine ends.
