Here is the latest news from the Bowlie.
CLASSIC TRIPLES CARNIVAL
60 bowlers contested the Classic Triples Carnival last weekend. Prize money was shared by bowlers from Parkes, Belrose, Rydalmere and Orange. The major winners were the red hot Parkes trio of Paul ( Chook ) Henry, Graham ( Flip ) Fliedner and Brett ( Baldy ) Frame. Baldy played exceptional bowls throughout the weekend enabling them to win all their matches, the only team to do so. All prize winning places were decided on the last game in what was a very hard fought carnival. Another feature of the carnival was the combination of Trevor and Ron Hornery with John Corcoran. These two family names are well known for their sporting prowess and it was revealed that this was the first time the two families have played together in a major sporting event.
Prize winners were:
1st Paul (Chook) Henry, Flip Fliedner and Baldy Frame
2nd R Wise, J Venteman and C Webber (Belrose)
3rd Ted Wright, Terry Hetherington and Lee Hetherington (Orange City)

TWILIGHT BOWLS
Last Thursday saw the first round of this popular event with 52 bowlers participating.
One of the new teams, Central West Glass, showed with a few more games they will be a real threat to other teams. They were down 16-0 early in the game but won the second half to go down 12-23 to Three Amigoes.
Superbees were too strong for a new Back Trundle Road combination, winning 16-11. It is good to see that Back Trundle Road have also entered a No. 2 team.
