Mixed Results in the Pennants

G'Day and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie
PENNANTS.
We had mixed results from last weeks games, the 5's and 7's went to Peak Hill, where the 5's went down 4/2, and the 7's won 5/1.
In the 5's game, we won two rinks, but Peak Hill had a hugh lead in the third game, and it went down to the last bowl of the day, the aggregate was all square, we were holding shot, but Steve Robinson, the Peak Hill skip let one go, took out our shot bowl and went three up.
A very popular result for the Peak Hill Boys.
The 7's, with their win are still well and truely in with a chance to progress to the Zone playoffs at Dubbo, the 5's have already qualified.
The 6's played the strong Forbes outfit, and were beaten 4/2, they are now on very thin ice to win their section, but funnier things have happened in bowls.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday afternoon bowls saw 24 bowlers on the green, with the winners being Brian Charters and Kevin Hynds, the runners up being Col Mudie, Norm Keane and Keith MacRae.
Saturday 32 players took to the greens, with the winners being Alan Affleck and John Hodge, the runners up being Wes Westcott and Steve Ryan.
Sunday Morning bowls, 10 members played only Social bowls, No Jackpot, as there was no one to run it.
GENERAL NEWS.
The Club Triples have now closed, check the notice board to see the draw, remember the first round is to be played by 20th May, any time before then would be much appreciated.
The Clasic Pairs is still open, they will be played on Wednesday and Thursday 16/17 May, so get your teams into the Blue Book now.
There will be no Pennants this Sunday, due to Mothers Day, but the club is putting on a Mothers Day Lunch, so bring Mum down for a two course meal ($18 Per Head).
There has been a trial match arranged for the No 5 Pennant team against Grenfell 5's at Forbes on Sunday 20th May, this will be a great opportunity to play a team from another Zone, so check the notice board for further information.
Well thats it for this week, good bowling to you all.
