CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The final of the Minor Fours was played on Saturday.
Norm Keane, Mike Valentine, John Hodge and Greig Ball were up against John Dunn, Bernie Mitchell, Terry Hetherington and George Boatswain.
Team Boatswain got away to a handy 13/6 lead after 10 ends. Team Ball then scored two 6 shot ends to lead 19/15 after 15 ends. Team Boatswain then won four of the next five ends to level the scores 21 all after twenty ends. John, Bernie, Terry and George scored one shot on the last end to win a very close match 22/21.
SUNDAY MORNING JACKPOT
There was no jackpot bowls on Sunday.
The jackpot remains at $1000 for the next Sunday Morning Jackpot on 1st September.
Come along for a game, a sausage sizzle, and be in the running for the $1000 jackpot.
SOCIAL
24 bowlers turned out on Thursday playing six games of Pairs.
Teams were randomly drawn from the hat, and this resulted in some big winning margins.Allan Wright and Gary McPhee only allowed Bob Freeman and John Carr to win seven ends as they ran out big winners 30/12.
In a closer match Ray Jones and John Hodge, after leading 14/4, held on to defeat Norm Keane and John Corcoran 21/15.
With only 1 shot separating the two teams after twelve ends, Joe Crowley and Graham Fliedner stepped up a gear and won eight of the last nine ends to run out winners over Terry Hetherington and Mike Parkes 31/16.
John Keogh and John Ward completely dominated their match against Col Woods and Mike Valentine, running out winners 31/11.
In a game where the lead changed five times, Bruce Deland and Col Hayward won the last three ends to defeat Alan Affleck and Warren Bevan 24/15.
John Dunn and Dave Johnson won fourteen ends to seven in defeating Gordon Dickson and Greig Ball 28/11.
Thursday prize winners were Ray Jones and John Hodge and the runners-up were Alan Wright and Gary McPhee.
There was no social bowls on Saturday due to the Women’s Classic Pairs Tournament.
GENERAL
Windmills Restaurant is holding a special Fathers Day luncheon on Sunday 1st September at 12 noon. The cost for a two course meal is only $20. Bookings essential.
A Seafood Night is being held on Sat 14th September. Once again bookings are essential.
