G'Day, welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
BUSINESS HOUSE.
Both nights went ahead this week, in spite of the threatening weather, winners on Wednesday were the Headless Chooks, runners up We Know How, a couple of scores from the night, ROKF.M had a good win over Ditch Bitches 15/13 and The High Rollers had a very exciting game against The Gate, winning 17/16. Thursday night saw Casey Surveying getting the money and Elle Runners up, some scores from the night saw Casey Surveying beating Revamped 18/14, and Just Us beating Villagers 19/17.
There are still some teams not turning up, I hope they start soon, there is still some vacancies for new teams on either night, please let the Club know.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday afternoon saw 20 bowlers take to the green, with the winners being Greig Ball and John Corcoran, Runners up being Graham Dixon and Steve Ryan.
Saturday afternoon saw 33 bowlers, (again the odd number), with the winners being Col Mudie and Craig Henry and the runners up Tony Byrne and John Ward,(Wardy hasn't forgotten his driving ability). Some scores from the day saw Tony Byrne and John Ward beat Ron Hornery and Tony Bright 23/21, this game went down to the last bowl of the day, the score level on 21/21 on the 20th end, and Wardie holding two shots, and Tony needing to draw with his last bowl, but lucky for us it fell short. Wally Grant and Ray Jones had a good win over Ron Murray and Arthur Corbett 26/21, and Mick Valentine and Ken Walsh had a hard fought win over Bernie Mitchell and John Corcoran 16/15.
SUNDAY MORNING JACKPOT BOWLS.
14 bowlers turned up for the day, the jackpot did not go off, so $1000 next Sunday, with the Margin now 15, the odds are getting shorter, it's only a matter of time before some team will be very rich. A couple of scores on the day, S Mills and Col Hayward beat Dave Johnson and Mick Craft 21/17, and Elaine Miller and Steve Turner had a good win over Gwenda Carty and Peter Ten Cate 18/11.
