Welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
PENNANTS.
The Mighty Sixes played their last game against a very strong Forbes side, although they had the home ground advantage, they went down 5/1. Mike Valentine and his team of John Dunn Rob Irving and Terry Hetherington flew the flag for Parkes, winning 21/19, so Forbes goes on to try for a State Flag, and we wish them the best of luck
In the other games Bernie Mitchell Norm Keane Craig Henry and Steve Ryan went down 28/12, this side didn't have an ounce of luck, if there was a hole they went through it, whilst Forbes got all the wicks, but thats bowls, and Alan Affleck Max Tomkins Wally Austin and skip George Boatswain went down in a thriller 21/16, At the 17th end, they were only 2 shots adrift, but the Forbes side surged home in the last 4 ends.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The final of the Minor Pairs was played on Saturday, with Craig Henry and John O'Malley up against Mick Craft and Greg Fisher, in a thrilling game, with the scores level at 19/19 on the 18th end, Craig and John picked up a 3 on the 19th end and went on to a 23/21 win, congratulations to both teams for a great effort,
In the other game,Greig Ball Tom Casey and Col Hayward took on Tom Furey Nimo Mills and Kev Hynds in a game of Major Triples, on paper Kevs side were very much the underdogs, but gave Cols side a very tough match, going down 25/14, remember both the Major and Minor Triples draws are on the board, please try to get your game over as soon as possible, don't wait for the last day;

GENERAL NEWS.
On Saturday, the Chairman of the Board Ray Jones announced that he will not be standing for the board in the upcoming A.G.M. also I am led to believe that four other Directors will also not be standing, so the Club will be looking for at least 5 new Directors come the A,G,M, so this is it people, look around , talk among your selves, remember at least two Directors can be Social Members, so this opens it up for the 550 members to take a leading roll for the Board of Directors, Ray is giving you all plenty of notice so please give serious consideration to nominate for a position, remember, no Board, No Club.
Please check the notice board for up coming events, also check the notice re the trial match between the No 5 and No 1 Pennant teams, to give the Fives some practice for their tilt at a State Pennant Flag at Tamworth on the 9-11 August.
Well, that's it for this week, see you all at the Bowlie.
