SUNDAY MORNING BOWLS.
About time, the jackpot has gone off, a team of triples shared the $1000, so this week the new jackpot will start at $500, and the margin 25.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES.
The semi final of the Major Pairs was played on Saturday, with the winners being Paul Henry and Baldy Frame over Noel Nicholson and Robert Corbett 25/15.
Three games of Major Singles were also played, with the following results,
Wilbur Harris had a good win over Gary McPhee 31/23, an interesting game this, as they are both drawn to play each other in the Minor Singles, a different day, a different result maybe? While in the other games Corky Corcoran was too good for Ray Jones 31/18, and Dave Worthington had a closer game against Mark Dwyer 31/25.
PENNANTS.
Sunday saw the four grades take to the green, with three at home, and the 6's at Forbes, home games first.
The 2's have very nearly won their grade, with a great 6/0 win over Dubbo City, with the mighty Joe Davies hitting his straps, with a huge win on his rink, and the other two not far behind, they now have to travel to Narromine this Sunday to clinch the title, but this will be a big if, as several of the players will be missing, however some very talented subs have been picked to fill the vacancies.
The 5's played Peak Hill, and after getting off to a slow start, hit the front, but then the Peak Hill Boys rallied and took the game right up to them, and hit the lead, then it was a race to the finish, Parkes had won one rink, but to show how close the game was, on the 21st end, BOTH other rinks were tied, and in a dramatic finish, both sides won one rink, and Parkes got the points, winning 5/1.
The 7's also played Peak Hill, but this was a much better result for Parkes, as they had no trouble in winning 6/0.
Now the away game, The 6's travelled South to take on the powerful Forbes outfit, Keith MacRae was the only rink to win, Forbes winning 5/1.
The Pennant teams for this weekend are on the boards, so look to see where you are picked, and where the team is playing. Skips to organise the transport for travelling.
