G'Day, and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
CLUB CHALLENGE.
Last Sunday while the Blue team had the Bye the Silver Team played the strong Narromine team at home. Despite missing 4 of our top bowlers the team had high hopes of a win but unfortunately it did not pan out that way and we went down 2 &1/2 to a 1/2. The pairs team of Mick Went and Tom Casey fought hard for a well deserved draw.
This Sunday the Silver team is away to Dubbo City(with the possibility of a double header) while the Blue team is home to Millthorpe, so we wish both teams the best of luck on their run home in the Comp.
SUNDAY JACKPOT BOWLS.
No play last Sunday, so the jackpot is still at $480 this week.
TWILIGHT BOWLS.
18 teams took part on Thursday night with the winners on the night being Thrown Together, Runners up Fletcher Ford & Kia.Some scores from the night, We Wreckem/We Fixem beat Crackerjacks 15/14. GENERAL NEWS
A HUGE THANKYOU to all the members who turned up on Saturday morning (early), to help prepare the middle green for its conversion to a Tifdwarf Green. A special thanks must go to Hutchison and Pearce for the loan of a tractor/ front end loader, which made a big difference in clearing the top 30mm of the old grass and loading it onto the trucks. The trucks were also loaned by Gary Potts and Craig Gibson. A big thanks to both these men for the loan of their vehicles. We hope to have the Tifdwarf chaff from Bathurst next Monday for laying on the green. So a big turnout of volunteers is required at about 3pm for the spreading and packing down of the chaff. It is not hard work so anyone can come and lend a hand.
Nominations are now open for the Handicap Singles and the Mixed Pairs, so check the board for the closing dates and playing dates.
Well thats it for this week, see you all at the Bowlie.
