G Day and welcome to this weeks news from the bowlie,
BUSINESS HOUSE BOWLS.
Well, we got through both nights bowls this week.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT, winners were High Rollers with the runners up being
The Headless Chooks, some scores from the night, Pulsars had a very close call over
We Know How 13/12, The Gate had a good win over Services (1) 14/12, and
Mamre had a good win over Services (2) 18/15
THURSDAY NIGHT, the winners were Hays and the runners up Thrown Together,
a couple of scores from the night, Thrown Together beat Bushies 15/10, and
Hays beat Three Amigos 15/10.
THURSDAY SOCIAL BOWLS.
28 players took part in a fine afternoons competition, playing for hams and cakes,
some scores from the day, Tom Cole and John Ward had a nice win over Don Littlewood
and Noel Nicholson 17/15 and Tony Byrne and Keith MacRae had a nail biter over Wally Grant and Phil Collins 19/18, nice to see Phil back for a few days.
SATURDAY SOCIAL BOWLS
40 Bowler took part in a great days bowls, again for hams and cakes,
but this was a different format, being the great grudge match between East and West.
and I am happy to say the mighty West's got up, the Fibros beating the Silver Tails
four rinks to three,with the shots up being 169 to 114.
A couple of the scores on the day showed East's beating West's 23/20 and 17/15,
which will give you some idea of the scores West's had in the other games.
Sunday bowls were washed out this week.
This Saturday we will be playing the other Great Grudge Match, being the 60 and under verse 61 and over,this will be the last game before Christmas,so come along and have a Christmas drink with your mates.
CORRECTION.
Last week in the list of sponsors for our Presentation day I mistakenly said one Sponsor was Arthur Somers,when in fact it was Alan Somers, Alan has been a sponsor for this event for over 20 years,and I am sorry for any embarrassment this has caused him.
Well, have to go now, as I have no other gossip, people are getting a bit tight lipped when I am around,so I will have to get my spies on the job.
