G,Day and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie,
DISTRICT PAIRS.
The District Pairs and Seniors Pairs were played over the weekend at Peak Hill, Whilst the Presidents Pairs were played at Condobolin, we had 13 teams at Peak Hill and one at Condobolin, unfortunately the team of John Keogh and Ron Hornery were unsuccessful at Condobolin, bowing out at the Semis, But at Peak Hill was a different story, with victories in both the District and Seniors Pairs.
In the District pairs, the Corbett Brothers, the Amazing Arthur and Robert had a big win in the final, beating Phil Lawler and Shane Sharman from Forbes, whilst the Senior Pairs was an all Parkes final, with Jim Buckley and Joe Davies beating Noel Nicholson and John Corcoran.Well done to all the teams who took part, and a big congratulations to the winners.
BUSINESS HOUSE.
Wednesday Night went ahead with most of the teams playing, I don't know who won as there was no score sheet, but some of the game results showed the fighting spirit of the teams involved, Services 1 just fell over the line against The Gate 10/8, while the game of the night saw a draw between Marees Costumes and Ditch Bitches 12/12, well done to you all.
Thursday night was washed out.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday was washed out, but despite 28 bowlers taking part in the District events, 22 bowlers started on Saturday afternoon, again no sheets, so I can only give you some game scores Alan Affleck and Kevin Hynds had a close win over Joe Crowley and Steve Ryan 20/17. Mick Valentine and Ray Jones had a better win over Bernie Mitchell and Wally Austin 23/17 and Max Tomkins and Ron Murray had a good win over Col Woods and Wes Westcott 27/20.
SUNDAY MORNING JACKPOT BOWLS.
16 Bowlers took to the green on Sunday morning, with the winners on the day being Don Littlewood,Bob Freeman and Mick Craft, well done fellas. Some scores from the games Julie and Tom Hamilton beat Elaine Miller and Steve Turner 24/21, Mick Horan and Greg Fisher had a close call against S Mills and Tom Cole 17/15, Craig Henry and C Hayward had a close shave against Mick Craft and Kevin Hynds 18/16, whilst the closest game of the morning saw B Freeman and C Dunn beat Keith Hutchins and Don Littlewood 11/10, the Jackpot didn't go off, so $1000 next Sunday, and the margin is now 17, the odds are getting better each week.
