Here is the latest news from the Bowlie.
GRADE 5 STATE PENNANT TITLES
Our Grade 5 pennant side were unlucky not to have reached the semi-finals when they travelled to Tamworth last weekend for the State titles.
They won two of their three round robin matches. Unfortunately this was not good enough as Taren Point won their three matches to advance to the semi-finals.
Parkes defeated West Pennant Hills 56-47 and Canowindra 63-51. In a heart breaking result they lost to Taren Point by the very narrow margin of 60-58.
The team members were Greig Ball, Warren Bevan, Dave Buggie, John Carr, Mark Dwyer, Greg Fisher, Keith MacRae, Peter McPhee, Col Mudie, John O’Malley, Matthew Parker and Mike Valentine. The team was ably managed by Pam MacRae.
A great effort by the boys.

In the triples game Cliff Westcott, Joe Crowley and Ted Wright won a very close match 20-18 against Bernie Mitchell, John Dunn and Bruce Orr.
Alan Affleck and Rhona Went played Tom Furey and Dave Johnson. Tom and Dave, aided by a maximum eight shot end, trailed 12-13 after 12 ends. Unfortunately for Alan and Rhona, Tom and Dave won eight of the last nine ends to record a comfortable 30-15 win.
