Club Triples Down To The Finals

G'Day, and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday saw 26 bowlers take part, with the winners being Dave (Major) Johnson and Eddie McPhee, runners up being Bill Skinner Laurie Westcott and Ted Wright, a couple of scores from the day saw Bill Skinner Laurie Westcott and Ted Wright beat Alan Tolhurst Mike Valentine and Ray Jones 17/14, and John Hodge and Terry Hetherington beat Tom Cole ans Graham Dixon 19/15.
Saturday afternoon saw 42 bowlers on the greens, with the winners being Alan Affleck Ron Hornery and Ted Wright, and the runners up being the Ladies team of Rhona Went and Gwenda Carty, some scores on the day saw Ron Murray and Wally Austin in a cliff hanger over Col Woods and Ray Jones 22/21,Bill Skinner and Steve Turner in a close call over Janon Gabriel(a visitor from Canberra) and Bruce Orr 23/21, and Bernie Mitchell and Rob Tinker in a hard fought win over Tony Byrne and Tom Casey 24/18, at the 14th end Tony and Tom were down 21/7, but made a big comeback.
SUNDAY JACKPOT BOWLS. 8 players tried out for the Jackpot this week, it was not won, now stands at $900 on Sunday.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Minor Triples Semi finals saw Tom Hamilton John Hodge and Greg Fisher beat Wally Grant John Keogh(sub) and John O'Malley 28/10, while in the Major Triples Quarter Final, Craig Cusack Mick Went and Robert Corbett beat Wilbur Harris Col Mudie and Arthur Corbett 32/15.
The Second semifinal of the Minor Triples was played on Sunday afternoon, in this game, the team of Dave Johnson Craig Cusack and Paul Henry had a good win over Brian SeFonte Gary McPhee and Peter McPhee, the final of the Minor Triples will be between Tom Hamilton John Hodge and Greg Fisher, and Dave Johnson Craig Henry and Paul Henry.
CLUB CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS.
On Saturday morning, our Champion Pairs team of Paul Henry and Baldy Frame, played the team from Peak Hill, Ken Parrott and Gary Stanford, and scored a big win, after lunch they took on the Forbes team, but unfortunately used all their big shots in the morning, and went down to the Forbes Boys.
Sunday morning in the Singles, our club Champion, Col Hayward took on Graham West from Forbes , and scored a close win, then in the afternoon took on Gary Stanford from Peak Hill. Col Won this match, and now goes on to Dubbo to contest the Zone Singles title, best of luck Col.
GENERAL NEWS.
Nominations for the Casey Surveying Two Bowl Pairs is now open, this event will take place over the weekend of 28/29 July, One player must be from either grade 2 or 5 pennants, and the other must be from grade 6 or 7 pennants, but two players from Grade 6 or 7 can make a team.
Nominations for the club Major and Minor fours are still open, they close on 15th July, so you havent much time to get your teams in.
