CHARITY BOWLS DAY
Saturday saw over 100 bowlers and supporters participate in a very successful charity bowls day in support of Prostate Awareness and Support Group, Palliative Care and Can Assist which saw an amount in excess of $2400 raised for these very worthy organisations.
Approximately 80 bowlers enjoyed the very pleasant conditions out on the greens where everyone was a winner. Following the bowls a barbecue high tea was provided and then the lucky winners were drawn from the hat. A raffle was also held and one local identity offered his prize for auction. Paul Thomas conducted the auction which saw a 6 pack of beer bring $70. The highest bidder was another local identity who was so keen to procure the prize he put in another bid not realising he was already the highest bidder. This local identity had been successful in both the bowls draw and the raffle and he was willing to give back some of his winnings.
THURSDAY SOCIAL BOWLS

In a low scoring triples game George Bradley, John Taylor and Graham Dixon scored a 19-10 win over Bob Freeman, Les Kent and Rob Irving.

The last game saw a very close encounter when Mike Valentine and John Ward took on Bernie Mitchell and Warren Bevan. The score was tied four times during the game with the score being 18 all after 18 ends.
