G;Day and welcome to this weeks news from the Bowlie.
SOCIAL BOWLS.
Thursday saw 16 hardy souls take to the greens for four games of Pairs, the winners on the day were Greig Ball and Graham Barby.
One close game on the day saw John Dunn and Dave Johnson in a close win over Mick Valentine and Warren Bevan 22/20.
Saturday also saw 16 bowlers on the greens, again no sheets filled out, so I don't know who won. Again one close game on the day saw Craig Cusack and Dave Buggie in a good win over Mick Valentine and John Corcoran 27/22.
SUNDAY JACKPOT BOWLS.
12 bowlers took to the greens in the chase for the elusive Jackpot, again not won, so $980 this Sunday, if it is not won this week, the jackpot will stand at $1000, and a second jackpot started. Also the range of numbers for the jackpot will decrease by 1 each week until it goes off.
GENERAL NEWS.
Not a great deal to report, with no Club Championship games played, although the Major Triples is now at the Semi Final stage, and the Minor Fours starting, so get in and play your games as soon as possible.
Nominations for position on the board of the Mens Bowling Club close tonight,so any last minute nominations must be done by close of business tonight.
BOWLS STARTERS.
New rosters are now available, anyone who would like to help out, please see me or a Committeeman, more volunteers make light work.
Starters for tomorrow Thursday 25/7 Col Hayward and Craig Cusack,(Volunteers will be needed here). Saturday 27/7 Mick Craft and Graham Barby, next Thursday 1/8 Geoff Freeman and Gary McPhee.
The Club was shocked to hear of the Death of Young Matt Frame, our thoughts are with his Parents Brett (Baldy) and Cherie, brother Ricky and his Uncle Paul (Chook), more details as they come to hand.
Well thats it for this week, see you all at the Bowlie.
