On the weekend the zone fours championship was played at Grenfell . Garry McPhee, Greg Howlett, Peter McPhee and Tom Furey played well and were unlucky to lose 22 to 21 in the first round. Graham Barby, Col Mudie, John Davies and Col Hayward defeated Blake Bradkte’s team (from Grenfell) in the quarter final. In the semi final Col Hayward’s team defeated the team from Manildra 26 to 20. The final proved a close affair. Col Haywards team were in a winning position until the last bowl when the skip from Grenfell collected the jack and pushed it on to his own team’s bowls.
