Here's the latest from the Bowlie.
Parkes Bowling & Sports Club’s Grade 7 team has won the Central West District Bowling pennant following a convincing win over Parkes Railway Diggers on Sunday. They won all three rings in their 65-42 win and gained the two points necessary to claim the pennant. This was a great result for the group of committed club bowlers.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Two club championship matches were played on Saturday.
Michael Went played Col Hayward in a quarter final of the major singles. The match featured outstanding bowling from both players. Col held an 11-7 lead and then Michael won the next four ends to lead 14-11. Col came back, winning six of the next seven ends, to hold a 20-15 lead. It was Michael’s turn for a comeback which saw the score levelled at 21 all. Michael had the better of the next three ends as he edged out to lead 24-22. End 33 was a crucial point of the match with Michael scoring a maximum four shots to extend his lead to 28-22. In the latter ends Michael twice held match only to see Col play a brilliant draw bowl to win the end. With the score 29-24, Michael played two great draw bowls to again hold match and this time Col was unable to convert the head which gave Michael the match 31-24. This was a great match which was worthy of a final and was thoroughly enjoyed by the appreciative spectators.
The other match saw Steve Turner and Wilbur Harris play Gordon Dickson and Craig Henry in minor pairs. Steve and Wilbur held a 12-6 lead after nine ends and extended their lead to 18-10 after 17 ends. Gordon and Craig won the next two ends to narrow the lead to 18-14. Steve and Wilbur then won the last two ends to record a 24-14 win.

Noel and Steve held an early 13=5 lead before Alan and George fought back, winning six of the next eight ends, to take the lead 18-15. Noel and Steve levelled the score 18 all on the penultimate end.
