By Johnny Perella.

The final of the minor pairs was played last Saturday and lived up to all expectations going right down to the very last end to get a result.
Tom Casey and Greig Ball won a real thriller 21-19 against a very determined Ben and Paul Townsend.
The match was close all the way and went into the last end with one shot separating them; both sides held shots before Tom and Greig gained the vital shot to seal an exciting victory.
Thursday bowls.
Highlight of social bowls was a visit by former club Champion Trevor Cole now living in Sydney and playing bowls for North Sydney.
Trevor was on his way through to Dubbo for the state N02 pennant finals at the weekend stopping off to renew acquaintances and get some valuable match practice.
He teamed with Colin Hayward to completely over run Arthur Corbett and Graham Barby 28-9.
Best game was a thrilling 19-18 win to Rob Tinker and Phil Collins against the very fast finishing Geoff Freeman and Tony Byrne.
In another tight contest John Hodge and Gordon Dickson produced a whirlwind finish to edge out Warren Bevan and Bill Skinner 23-21.
Col Mudie and John Keogh won 27-19 against Eddie McPhee and Ray Jones and right next door Wally Austin and Alan Tolhurst had a big 23-11 win over Mike Parkes and John Edwards.

Club News.
A great roll up for last week’s Christmas in July night, there were 160 people enjoying the mid season festivities and I believe all had a great evening.
The members badge draw has moved along to $1200 after failing to go off last week.
Saturday Bowls.
Four pairs and one game of triples were played in social bowls and the stand out game was a very narrow 16-14 win for John Corcoran and Mike Valentine against John Hodge and Graham Barby.
Col Hayward and Don Littlewood won impressively 22-13 against Greg Fisher and Alan Afflick and also impressing were John Ward and Bruce Orr as they outclassed John Keogh and George Boatswain 27-18.
Ray Jones and Ryan McLuckie pulled away over the closing stages for a well deserved 26-21 win over Colin Mudie and Kevin Hynds.
In the triples game Terry Hetherington, Ron Murray and Merv Hennock def Steve Ryan, Max Tomkins and Gordon Dickson 25-19.
Looking after Saturdays bowls will be Geoff Freeman and Graham Barby.
